SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary Lee Zarazinski of Waukegan, who passed away on August 10, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Beatrice and Walter Zarazinski on October 23, 1943; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski graduated from North Chicago High School, where he was a three-time All State wrestler and a member of the band; he graduated from Aurora College and was a licensed Certified Public Accountant; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he earned an Air Medal, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Vietnam Service Medal; he also served in the National Guard and attained the rank of Captain; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski volunteered for Cub Scouts, the Waukegan Baseball Association, and the Lions Club; he was an avid golfer and played in leagues at Bonnie Brook and Midlane; he was a devoted Cubs fan and got to see his beloved team win the World Series last year; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bruce; and

WHEREAS, Gary Zarazinski is survived by his daughter, Karen; his son, David; his sisters, Cindy Zarazinski (Chris) Summers and Tanya (James) Rigwood; his close friend, Sue Janda; and his many cousins, nephews, and nieces; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary Lee Zarazinski, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Zarazinski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
