SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia A. Vose of Springfield, who passed away on August 19, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vose was born in Springfield to William and Catherine (Kornfeld) Vetter on July 1, 1924; she married Bob Vose on May 2, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vose was a lifelong resident of Springfield and worked for the State of Illinois Comptroller; she, along with her husband, owned and operated Vose's Fine Foods and served "Vose's Corn Dogs" at the Illinois State Fair for over 51 years; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vose was dedicated to her family and had a loving spirit; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vose was preceded in death by her parents; and her three sisters, Catherine, Eileen, and Shirley; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Vose is survived by her husband; her children, Robert Vose Jr, Virginia (Michael) Geiger, Ronald (Marybeth) Vose, Kenneth (Roxanne) Vose, Debra Vose, and Sandra (Robert) Orr; her grandchildren, Brad Vose, Justin (Lindsey) Vose, Kelsie Vose, Jacee (Kyle) Byerline, Philip Dionne, Grace Geiger, Joe (Mary) Geiger, Hannah Geiger, Alexa Rapps, Taylor Rapps, Kevin Rapps, Ali Orr, Brett Sherman, and Sam Sherman; her nine great-grandchildren; her brother, William (Jane) Vetter; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Virginia A. Vose, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virginia Vose as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
