SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janice Helen Johnston, of Crystal Lake,
4who passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janice Johnston was born in St. Joseph, Missouri
6to Paul and Gladys (Barrow) Brown; she began work as a
7long-distance telephone operator in St. Joseph, Missouri and
8Wichita, Kansas; she later became an accomplished lead sales
9woman for Sears in Crystal Lake; she retired as Head of
10Circulation for the Crystal Lake Public Library; she was fondly
11known around town as the "Library Lady"; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Janice Johnston loved mystery novels; she also had
13the privilege of learning about style from her father, who was
14a local tailor in St. Joseph; she loved clothing and fashion;
15she enjoyed chocolate, and had tried every brand; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Janice Johnston traveled extensively with her
17husband; she was grateful to have the opportunity to see the
18world; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Janice Johnston was preceded in death by her
20parents; and her many feline companions; and

1    WHEREAS, Janice Johnston is survived by her husband; her
2sons, Kenneth M. (Jasmine) Johnston and Steven P. (fiancee
3Boots Palad) Johnston; her daughters-in-law, Sandra Johnston
4and Gail (Bobby) Johnston-Riggs; her grandchildren, Scott
5Johnston, Jennifer (Matt) Orlick, Nicole Johnston, Michael
6Johnston, and Christopher Johnston; her great-grandchildren,
7Vince, Autumn, and Wyatt Orlick; and her feline companion,
8Maynard; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Janice Helen Johnston, and extend our sincere condolences to
12her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Janice Johnston as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
