| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Daniel J. Labus of Waukegan, who passed | 4 | | away on January 14, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Labus was born to Walter and Bertha | 6 | | (Matheson) Labus on January 14, 1941; he graduated from | 7 | | Waukegan Township High School in 1959, where during his junior | 8 | | year, the Bulldogs won the Suburban League Football | 9 | | Championship in which Dan was the starting left end; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Labus attended the Molar Barber College in | 11 | | Chicago and embarked on a career of cutting hair that lasted | 12 | | over 50 years, retiring in 2014; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Labus enjoyed watching all his favorite | 14 | | Chicago sports teams and was thankful to see the Cubs win the | 15 | | World Series; he enjoyed socializing with his many friends, | 16 | | doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, singing, telling | 17 | | jokes, and spending time with his loving family; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Labus was preceded in death by his parents; | 19 | | his brother, Frank; his sister, Ruth Stebbins; and his | 20 | | sister-in-law, Ann; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Labus is survived by his beloved partner of | 2 | | 28 years, Pam Niemi; his sons, Michael, Jim, and Daniel II | 3 | | (Melissa Fort); his daughters, Juliann Raasch, Joan (Tom) | 4 | | Crane, and Jill (Chuck) Crane; his siblings, Jack, Betsy | 5 | | (Danny) Ristow, Tim (Janice), Peggy Labus (Chip Wright), David | 6 | | (Stella), and Brian (Mary); Pam's children, Chad (Suzanne) and | 7 | | Jason (Laura) Niemi; 18 grandchildren; two | 8 | | great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Daniel J. Labus, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
