SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth C. Donoghue of Pearl River, New
4York, who passed away on June 23, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue was born in New York City to
6Richard and Marguerite Donoghue on June 16, 1927; he served in
7the United States Navy during World War II and received his
8bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Notre
9Dame; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue worked for NBC News as a
11producer, covering stories all across the world for 30 years;
12he retired in 1988; and
 
13    WHEREAS, For years, Kenneth Donoghue volunteered four days
14a week at the Meals on Wheels Bobbi Lewis Center; he was named
15as a Volunteer of the Year; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue loved to travel and enjoyed
17spending time with his children and grandchildren; he was an
18avid walker, reader, bridge player, and lover of nature; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue is survived by his wife of 58
20years, Gloria Donoghue; his children, Sue Massaro (Peter), Mary

1Caughlin (Keith), and Tom Donoghue (Nora); and his
2grandchildren, Nick, Tim, Chris, Dennis, Steven, Cole, and
3Robbie; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Kenneth C. Donoghue, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Kenneth Donoghue as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
