| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Fred T. Heinritz of Appleton, Wisconsin, | 4 | | who passed away on July 24, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Fred C. and Rose (Steidl) Heinritz on November 16, 1923; he | 7 | | attended St. Joseph Middle School and Appleton West High School | 8 | | and enrolled at the University of Notre Dame; his college days | 9 | | were interrupted by World War II when he enlisted in the United | 10 | | States Army in 1942 and became a B-17 pilot; he flew missions | 11 | | over Germany from bases in England; he was discharged in 1945 | 12 | | and returned to Notre Dame for his graduation in 1947; he | 13 | | married Gretchen Esche in 1949; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz worked at Appleton Coated for 40 | 15 | | years from 1947 until 1987; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz served his community as a member of | 17 | | the Appleton Area Jaycees, the Boy Scouts of America, and the | 18 | | Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club; he had many interests and | 19 | | loved traveling the world with Gretchen and the Notre Dame | 20 | | Alumni Association; he was an avid outdoorsman and fondly | 21 | | recalled traveling to Alaska, British Columbia, and the | 22 | | Northwest Territories to hunt mountain sheep; he loved to hunt |

| 1 | | ducks, grouse, pheasant, and deer and fishing for trout on his | 2 | | property on the Little Wolf River in Waupaca County, that he | 3 | | purchased in 1961 and remains in the family to this day; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz was preceded in death by his | 5 | | parents; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Fred Heinritz is survived by his wife, Gretchen; | 7 | | his sons, Rick Heinritz and Charles (Karen) Heinritz; and his | 8 | | grandchildren, Laura, Molly, and Dan (Tracy); therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Fred T. Heinritz, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Fred Heinritz as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
