SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Theodore G. Porter of Crystal Lake, who passed away on July 25, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter was born in West Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Nellie (Hartshorn) Porter on July 28, 1940; he served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Drake University; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter was a successful business owner, with his own CPA firm in the Schaumburg area; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter was a wonderful husband, father, "papa", brother, and uncle; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter enjoyed driving his tractor, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and was a collector of many things; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Porter is survived by his wife of 52 years, Melanie (Zittnan) Porter; his daughters, Alicia (Timothy) Driver and Stacey (Joshua Weems) Porter; his grandchildren, Alexandria Porter and Helaina and Jacob Driver; his siblings, Jack (Martha Green) Porter and Ellen (Kurt) Stumpf; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Theodore G. Porter, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Theodore Porter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
