SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeremiah Court Lapish of Winthrop Harbor,
4who passed away on May 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeremiah Lapish was born in Toledo, Ohio to Arthur
6and Mae Lapish on May 28, 1923; he served with the United
7States Navy during World War II on PT boats and married
8Rosemary McLean on August 24, 1946; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jeremiah Lapish and his wife owned and operated
10the Falcon Marine Company in Waukegan; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeremiah Lapish was a past commodore of the
12Waukegan Yacht Club; he was a member of Christ Episcopal Church
13in Waukegan, the Evanston Elks Club, the Waukegan Kiwanis Club,
14and the Small Business Association of Illinois; he was on the
15advisory committee for the College of Lake County welding
16program and a plank member of PT Boats, Inc. in Germantown,
17Tennessee; he cherished his family and had a love for the
18water; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeremiah Lapish was preceded in death by his wife,
20Rosemary; his parents; one brother; and one sister; and

1    WHEREAS, Jeremiah Lapish is survived by his children,
2Stephen (Patricia) Lapish, Cindy (Jeffrey) Tippet, Marysue
3(Michael) Jaacks, and Wendy (Bruce) Hegberg; his
4grandchildren, Joseph (Emily) Lapish, Melissa (Jacob)
5Anderson, Stacey (Patrick) Steuer, Nicholas (Lindsey) Tippet,
6and Jessica, Eric, and Abigail Hegberg; and his
7great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tristen, Devin, Jaden, Everret,
8Kenna, and Elli; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Jeremiah Court Lapish, and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Jeremiah Lapish as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
