SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Ann Shinsky of North Chicago, who passed away on June 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Mary Shinsky was born in Waukegan on July 26, 1935; and

WHEREAS, Mary Shinsky worked in the Waukegan Public School District as a teacher's assistant for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Mary Shinsky was a member of KSKJ Life American Slovenian Catholic Union-St. Mary's Lodge #79, where she served on the board of officers as an auditor; she was a member of Queen of Peace Church, Most Blessed Trinity Parish; and

WHEREAS, Mary Shinsky was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, and her brother, John Gerjol; and

WHEREAS, Mary Shinsky is survived by her sons, Lester (the late Cheryl) Shinsky and Larry (Kelly) Shinsky; her daughter, Lisa (Joel) Brockway; her grandchildren, Cynthia Shinsky, Emily Brockway, Amanda Brockway, and Elizabeth Shinsky; her niece, Michelle Gerjol; and her dear friends, Barbara Marolt and the Marolt family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Ann Shinsky, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Shinsky as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
