SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard F. Bivin of Nilwood, who passed
4away on January 17, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin was born in Carlinville to Stephen
6"Frank" and Josephine H. (Le Vora) Bivin on April 26, 1946; he
7graduated from Carlinville High School in 1965 and served in
8the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969; he married
9Judith "Judi" A. Bramley at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in
10Chesterfield on August 12, 1967; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in
12Carlinville after 31 years in the maintenance department; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin served as the Mayor of Nilwood for
14the past eight years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin was a member of Blooming Grove
16Christian Church in rural Palmyra and volunteered on the Girard
17Fire and Rescue Squad for 28 years; he served on the Macoupin
18County 911 Board for three years; he enjoyed spending his free
19time fishing, woodworking, and walking his dogs; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin was preceded in death by his parents

1and his granddaughter, Gabriella Josephine Bivin; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Bivin is survived by his wife, Judith; his
3sons, Stephen Matthew (Amy) Bivin, and James Alexander (Sasha)
4Bivin; his nine grandchildren; his sisters, Myrtle Kessinger,
5Allie Jo (Mike) Meikamp, and Marjorie Hickerson; and several
6nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Richard F. Bivin, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Richard Bivin as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
