SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marcus J. Whitney of Silvis, who passed away on July 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney was born in Moline to Earl and Margaret (Bahmler) Whitney on April 29, 1937; he married Sharon Booth in 1965; he married Linda Donaldson Barr in Silvis in 1991; and

WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney worked with his father and later with Farm Services; he retired in the early 1990s as a material handler from John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline; and

WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney was a member of the Masonic Lodge; he enjoyed everything Harley Davidson and playing LRC.; and

WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughters, Dawn (Rob) Anderson and Brenda (Tim) Skaggs; his stepchildren, Aaron Barr and Molly Barr; eight grandchildren; his siblings, Richard (Eileen) Whitney, Marcia Bradley, David (Brenda) Whitney, and Mary Kay Joyce; and his dog, Lula; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marcus J. Whitney, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marcus Whitney as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
