SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James H. "Jack" Johnson of Beach Park, who passed away on July 14, 2017; and

WHEREAS, James Johnson was born in McLeansboro to Thomas and Stella (Russell) Johnson on July 19, 1926; and

WHEREAS, James Johnson retired from Abbott Labs after 42 years; and

WHEREAS, James Johnson and his wife traveled extensively worldwide with the Chuck Paxton's Senior Park District Travel Club; he also enjoyed traveling domestically, following his grandchildren's sporting events; he was a member of Meadowridge Baptist Church in Zion; and

WHEREAS, James Johnson was preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Charles Johnson; his sisters, Hallie, Ruby, and Chloe; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, James Johnson is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Charlotte Mae Johnson; his children, Dennis (Ann) Johnson, Charles T. (Emily) Johnson, and Dianne (Eddie) Moore; his grandchildren, Andrew (Sherra) Johnson, Benjamin (Dawnelda) Johnson, Christin (Rob) Nichols, Dawn (Brent) McKown, Tiffany (Guy) Meikel, Adam (Deborah) Johnson, Nichole (Jim) McAskin, and Rebecca Moore; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James H. "Jack" Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
