SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony Louis Christopulos of Waukegan,
4who passed away on May 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Christopulos was born in Cheyenne,
6Wyoming to Louis and Helen Christopulos on April 10, 1927; he
7married Ann in 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Anthony Christopulos was an adventurer at heart
9and held approximately 82 jobs throughout his 90 years; he sold
10newspapers during the Great Depression, worked at a movie
11theater in Nebraska, and traveled throughout Mexico; he opened
12up the Burgundy Room, a bar that he ran with his brother, Bob,
13for 32 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Anthony Christopulos was affectionately known as
15"Tony" or "Gatch"; he was a fan of the University of Wyoming
16Cowboys; he was known as a trickster, a jokester, and one not
17to take life too seriously; he was an avid fisherman and could
18be found most evenings in the summer, fishing the ponds at
19Bonnie Brook Golf Course; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Anthony Christopulos was proceeded in death by his
21parents; his siblings, Jim, Nick, Kay, George, Bob, and Iris;

1his son-in-law, Michael Bonamarte; and his niece, Elaine; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Anthony Christopulos is survived by his of wife 62
3years, Ann; his children, Nick, Laura Bonamarte, and Bill
4(Jill); his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Cami, Lexi, and Tony; his
5great-granddaughter, Vivienne; his brother, Mike (Jan); his
6brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Peggy Moraites; and
7several nephews and nieces; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Anthony Louis Christopulos, and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Anthony Christopulos as an
15expression of our deepest sympathy.
