SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lloyd T. Lassegard, formerly of Rock
4Island, who passed away on June 24, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lassegard was born in Mitchell, South Dakota
6to Thomas and Minnie (Krause) Lassegard on March 5, 1927; he
7served in the United States Army during World War II and
8married Barbara Gannon in Mitchell, South Dakota on July 24,
91950; he later married Stella Fontenoy in Rock Island on July
1025, 1970; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lassegard worked at Woolworth Five and Dime,
12TG&Y in Rock Island, and later, People's Drug in the Quad
13Cities; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lassegard enjoyed pheasant hunting,
15fishing, traveling, dancing, listening to Frank Sinatra, and
16spending time with his family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lassegard was preceded in death by his first
18wife, Barbara, and his second wife, Stella; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lassegard is survived by his children, Lynda
20(Dennis) Buckley, Kay (Sonny) Stephens, Pennie Knary, and

1Kenneth T. Anderson; his grandchildren, John (Amanda) Lee,
2Chris (Didi) Lee, Kelly (Paul) Cook, Kimberly (Scott) DeVriese,
3Kraigg (Felicia) Knary, and Konrad (Sarah) Knary; his
4great-grandchildren, Gannon Lee, Keegan Lee, Tera (Troy)
5Thompson, Krisha (Travis) Zurcher, Kaitlyn Knary, Kacie Knary,
6Spencer DeVriese, Olivia DeVriese, Nolan DeVriese, Tatum
7DeVriese, Kinsey Knary, Kayla Knary, Tom (April) Cook, and
8Brian Cook; his great-great-grandchildren, Scarlett Zurcher,
9Dylan Thompson, and Gavin and Cadence Cook; and his sister,
10Gladys Olson; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Lloyd T. Lassegard, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Lloyd Lassegard as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
