SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William H. "Bill" Bruce of McHenry, who passed away on June 4, 2017; and

WHEREAS, William Bruce was born in Cicero to William J. and Henrietta (Fell) Bruce on April 29, 1931; he married Judith Wevik-Lindwall on April 14, 1983; he served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, William Bruce co-owned Riveria Yacht Basin for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, William Bruce loved woodworking and making beautiful keepsakes; he enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, traveling, and NASCAR; he will be remembered for being a great storyteller and will be greatly missed by all who knew him; and

WHEREAS, William Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Bill Bruce Jr.; and

WHEREAS, William Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Judith; his children, Cindy Kennedy, Becky (David) Olds, Karl (Christine) Lindwall, and Neil (Marcie) Lindwall; his grandchildren, Lucas, Echo, Katelyn, Jory, Aaron, and Kaitlyn; his many great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Irene Horn and Kenneth Bruce; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William H. "Bill" Bruce, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Bruce as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
