SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Geri N. Davis, who passed away on June 5, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Geri Davis was born to Edward and Grace (Kirschbaum) Karlic on April 15; she married John Landon in McHenry on April 9, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Geri Davis was the executive director of the Republican Party of McHenry County for over 30 years; she also served as a precinct committeeman in McHenry for more than 30 years; she worked as a congressional aide for Phil Crane and as a senatorial aide for Dick Klemm and Pam Althoff; she was very active in St. Patrick Catholic Church in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Geri Davis received the "Catholic Woman of Inspiration Award" in 2010; she was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Geri Davis was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Geri Davis is survived by her loving husband, John; her children, Mary Krein Deruiter, Faith (Scott) Brady, and Donald Davis (Barbara Stuckwisch); her stepson, Richard Davis; her grandchildren, Kevin Krein, Charles O'Donnell, Tyler Brady, and Brittany Lech; and her sisters, Bernadine Karlic and Constance Mosser; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Geri N. Davis, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geri Davis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
