SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Robert Hagerty of Gurnee, who passed away on January 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, James Hagerty was born in Waukegan to Robert and Vinetta Hagerty on August 18, 1949; he married Phyllis J. Cashmore on August 15, 1987 and they resided in the Gurnee area; and

WHEREAS, James Hagerty worked for ComEd and the Ann Kiley Center; and

WHEREAS, James Hagerty was a very giving person of his time and talents to his church, family, and friends; he held many offices with his church, including president; he had a love for food and cooking and enjoyed putting on barbecues; he started his own business, James R. Hagerty Catering; and

WHEREAS, James Hagerty was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, James Hagerty is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his brothers, Michael (Terry), Thomas (Wanda), Daniel (Sylvia), and Robert (Tina); his sister, Kathleen; his daughter, Lyn (Tom) Champeau; his son, Charles (Lynn) Cashmore; his brothers-in-law, Lester Geer and Tom (Pat) Koppelman; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Robert Hagerty, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Hagerty as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
