SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul C. Hendren of Champaign, who passed
4away on January 11, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Hendren was born at Fort Riley, Kansas to Dr.
6William Paul and Nancy Grosboll Hendren on September 28, 1942;
7his family settled in Carthage in 1952; he graduated from the
8University of Illinois in 1964 with honors in sociology, where
9he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and was
10business manager of the Illio yearbook; he graduated from the
11University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Law in
121967, where he wrote for the Law Review and was named to the
13Order of the Coif honorary; he served four years in the United
14States Army JAG Corps, which included service in Vietnam; he
15married Suzanne Backs in Belvidere on June 13, 1965; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Paul Hendren joined the law firm of Williamson &
17Miller (now Miller & Hendren) in Champaign; he served as
18attorney for several villages in the area; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Paul Hendren was a past President of the Champaign
20County Bar Association and was named a Pillar of the Bar in
212015; he served many years as a hearing officer for the
22Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission;

2    WHEREAS, Paul Hendren was active in the Champaign Lions
3Club and at St. John Lutheran Church; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Paul Hendren is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his
5son, Matthew (Leslie) Hendren; his daughter, Anne Hendren; his
6grandson, Damyan Shepherd; and his sister, Jane (Bruce)
7Leathem; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Paul C. Hendren, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Paul Hendren as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
