SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Everett Wayne "Rawhide" Madson of Ipava, who passed away on May 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson was born in Jerseyville to Nestor E. and Violet R. (Smith) Madson on January 4, 1931; he married F. Marilyn Bankes in Havana on July 3, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson was a member of Operating Engineers Local 649 for 65 years and worked as a heavy equipment and crane operator; he was also foreman of the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson was a member of the Berean Christian Church in Ipava; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson collected antique construction toys and enjoyed going to toy shows; he liked to hunt, fish, and play with his grandkids; he loved his family and had a love for life itself; he enjoyed music, especially bluegrass, gospel, and listening to his children play; he also enjoyed gardening and feeding the squirrels and birds in his backyard; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Combs Stahl; and

WHEREAS, Everett Madson is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his sons, Robert (Joyce) Madson and Nestor (Jean) Madson; his daughters, Nancy (George) Buswell and Susan (William) Gehring; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and his brother, James (Twila) Madson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Everett Wayne "Rawhide" Madson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Everett Madson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
