SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Kazar Kazarian of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on April 15, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Kazarian was born in Waukegan to Kazar and
6Mariam Kazarian on October 21, 1929; he graduated from Waukegan
7High School in 1945; he married Armina Elmas Bedrosian in
8Waukegan on June 16, 1951 and received his Juris Doctor from
9the University of Miami in 1952; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Kazarian was a school principal and coach in
11Mundelein for over a decade; he launched a successful group of
12men's clothing stores in Waukegan and Vernon Hills and turned a
13corner candy store in Waukegan into a thriving business that
14enjoyed nearly 20 years of success; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Kazarian enjoyed horse races, his daily
16visits to the health club for his walks, and holding court at
17the Starbucks in Lake Forest; he was affectionately known as
18"Poppa" to his grandchildren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Kazarian was preceded in death by his parents
20and his son, John Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, John Kazarian is survived by his wife of over 65
2years, Armina "Steffie"; his children, Stephanie (Brian)
3Kearney, Jacqueline (Peter Cunningham) Kazarian, Gregory (Kim)
4Kazarian, and Stacey (Jim) Lareau; his grandchildren, Kevin
5(Elizabeth) Kearney, Briana Kearney, Sima Cunningham, Liam
6Cunningham, John T. Kazarian, Alexandra Kazarian, Kenneth
7Kazarian, Samara Lareau, and Jackson Lareau; and his brother,
8Edward Norman Kazarian; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11John Kazar Kazarian, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of John Kazarian as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
