| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lee W. Short of Bloomington, who passed | 4 | | away on January 4, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lee Short was born on May 1, 1921; he graduated | 6 | | from Belvidere High School and Illinois Wesleyan University; he | 7 | | served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II | 8 | | and married Phyllis Jean Smith; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lee Short worked for over 30 years for Illinois | 10 | | Wesleyan University; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lee Short served his community through leadership | 12 | | positions in the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, the Masonic | 13 | | Lodge, Wesley Methodist Church, and the McLean County Board; | 14 | | his primary passion was always his love of music, which he | 15 | | shared with his entire family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lee Short was preceded in death by his parents, | 17 | | Crawford and Leota Short, and his sister, Leatha Griffis; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lee Short is survived by his wife of 69 years, | 19 | | Phyllis; his daughters, Karen Short Mills, Deborah (Ken) | 20 | | Hester, Barbara (Steve) Brown, and Nancy (Bill) Pittman; his |
