SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joaquina M. "Kena" Alamillo of Lockport, who passed away on May 2, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Joaquina Alamillo was born to Kenneth Marquez and Henrietta Sanchez on April 17, 1951; she was a resident of Joliet for many years before moving to Lockport; and

WHEREAS, Joaquina Alamillo retired from Silver Cross Hospital after 31 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Joaquina Alamillo was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; and

WHEREAS, Joaquina Alamillo was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Monica Teresa Alamillo; her brother-in-law, Juan Suarez; and her sister-in-law, Karen Marquez; and

WHEREAS, Joaquina Alamillo is survived by her children, Anita (Angel) Garcia, Raquel (Alan) Cottle, and Ricky (Jennifer) Alamillo; her grandchildren, Alex, Tony, Ava, Ricky Jr., Olivia, and Eva; her siblings, Tony (Arlene) Marquez, Sandra Suarez, Mike (Connie) Marquez, Debbie (Craig) Johnston, Robert Sanchez, John (Kathy) Romo, Monica Murphy, and Tom Alamillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joaquina M. "Kena" Alamillo, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joaquina Alamillo as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
