SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy S. Bramlet of Springfield, who passed away on May 10, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet was born in Moline to Bob and Rita Bramlet on October 24, 1958 and raised in Springfield; he graduated in 1980 with a degree in journalism from the University of Illinois, where he was president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he was married to Kathy (Dalsin) Bramlet for 23 years; he most recently resided with Jeannie Lindsay; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet had a distinguished career in public service; he served as president of the Taxpayers' Federation of Illinois for 12 years, where he worked on school funding and property tax-related issues; prior to that, he served as vice president of the Retail Merchants Association; in 2008, he became the legislative consultant for the Township Officials of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet served nine years as a commissioner of the Springfield Airport Authority; he also served as president of the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame, the Capitol Area Sports Commission, and the Illini Country Club; he most recently served as treasurer of the Illinois Executive Mansion Association; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet spent an entire baseball season working for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Bramlet; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet is survived by his brothers, Dave (Nancy) and Dick (Char) Bramlet; his daughters, Kellie (Elliott) Bramlet Blackburn and Molly Bramlet; his nieces, Joy (Eric) Martin, Laura (Damien) Sullivan, and Cindy Chavez; his nephews, John and Todd (Lindsey) Bramlet; many cousins; and countless friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Timothy S. Bramlet, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Timothy Bramlet as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
