SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Timothy S. Bramlet of Springfield, who
4passed away on May 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet was born in Moline to Bob and Rita
6Bramlet on October 24, 1958 and raised in Springfield; he
7graduated in 1980 with a degree in journalism from the
8University of Illinois, where he was president of the Kappa
9Sigma Fraternity; he was married to Kathy (Dalsin) Bramlet for
1023 years; he most recently resided with Jeannie Lindsay; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet had a distinguished career in
12public service; he served as president of the Taxpayers'
13Federation of Illinois for 12 years, where he worked on school
14funding and property tax-related issues; prior to that, he
15served as vice president of the Retail Merchants Association;
16in 2008, he became the legislative consultant for the Township
17Officials of Illinois; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet served nine years as a
19commissioner of the Springfield Airport Authority; he also
20served as president of the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame, the
21Capitol Area Sports Commission, and the Illini Country Club; he
22most recently served as treasurer of the Illinois Executive

1Mansion Association; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet spent an entire baseball season
3working for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet was preceded in death by his
5parents and his brother, Danny Bramlet; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Timothy Bramlet is survived by his brothers, Dave
7(Nancy) and Dick (Char) Bramlet; his daughters, Kellie
8(Elliott) Bramlet Blackburn and Molly Bramlet; his nieces, Joy
9(Eric) Martin, Laura (Damien) Sullivan, and Cindy Chavez; his
10nephews, John and Todd (Lindsey) Bramlet; many cousins; and
11countless friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Timothy S. Bramlet, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Timothy Bramlet as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
