SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dale Eugene "Gene" Trimble of Newman, who
4passed away on April 26, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble was born in Jewett to Roy Orval and
6Belle Bishop Trimble on August 2, 1925; he attended school in
7Chrisman and then Newport, Indiana, where he started playing
8the trumpet; he moved to Newman during his junior year of high
9school and graduated from Newman High School in 1943; he
10married Ann McIntyre in Newman on November 20, 1949; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble was a farmer by occupation, but his
12love of music was his vocation and making music played a major
13role in his life; as a high school junior he started a dance
14band, "Gene Trimble's Orchestra", which was promoted as "The
15Midwest's Most Danceable Music"; his dance band traveled
16throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and
17Pennsylvania; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble operated the Newman Danceland
19Ballroom, which attracted dancers from miles away; another
20musical avenue was his clown band featured in parades, marinas,
21and parks and delighted crowds at the Illinois State Fair for
2251 years; for decades, he donated his time playing "Taps" at

1military funerals and veterans affairs throughout western
2Indiana and central Illinois; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble and his wife were inseparable
4partners in farming, music events, philanthropic and community
5endeavors, and travel; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble was preceded in death by his parents;
7his wife of 55 years, Ann; infant twin daughters; and his
8brother, Doyle Trimble; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dale Trimble is survived by his sons, Dana
10(Binnie) and Tod (Monica) Trimble; his daughter, Beth (David)
11Partenheimer; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
12his sister, Madge Warters; several nieces and nephews; and a
13special friend and companion, Sue Edmundson; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Dale Eugene "Gene" Trimble, and extend our sincere condolences
17to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Dale Trimble as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
