SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tom Deram of North Chicago, who passed away on April 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Tom Deram was born to Frank and Mary (Treven) Deram on January 19, 1946; he attended Mother of God Grade School and North Chicago High School; he received his degree in Production Management Technology from the College of Lake County (CLC) and served in the United States Army Reserve from 1966 to 1972; and

WHEREAS, Tom Deram worked at OMC-Marine Engineering, Buehler LTD, and Toolamation Inc., from where he retired in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Tom Deram was a member of American Legion Post 771 and St. Mary 79 KSKJ; he was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears; he loved playing golf, especially with the Sunday morning guys at Foss Park and the Tuesday night league at Bonnie Brook; he was on many softball and basketball teams with the Waukegan KSKJ and coached youth baseball for 13 years in the Waukegan Baseball Association; and

WHEREAS, Tom Deram was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John; and

WHEREAS, Tom Deram is survived by his loving wife, Lynn (Wienke); his children, David (Brooke), Douglas, and Danielle (Keith) Barnett; seven grandchildren, Mason, Finley, Graham Barnett, Jonah, Miles, Avery, and Quinn Deram; his sister-in-law, Kathy Deram Clark; and his nephews, John, Eric, and Tony Deram; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tom Deram, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Deram as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
