SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy J. Murphy of Mount Prospect, who passed away on April 4, 2017 at the age of 62; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy was a graduate of DePaul Law School and was a dedicated and dogged attorney who practiced his talents for over 37 years; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago; he was proud of his Chicago roots and enthusiastically cheered on the Chicago White Sox, the Blackhawks, and the Northwestern Wildcats; he believed strongly in helping and serving others in his community and was a committed member of the Mt. Prospect Lions Club; he brought energy and zest to every occasion and enjoyed life to the absolute fullest; he loved getting together with friends, going to countless rock concerts, and making others laugh with his wit and humor; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, and loyal friend; he was a willing confidant, peacemaker, and sage counselor and will be missed by all; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy is survived by his parents Robert and Dolores Murphy; his wife of 37 years Kathleen (Meersman); his children, Sarah (Joe) Reth, Patrick (Ryan) Murphy, Claire (John) Hollyoak, and Jack Murphy; his grandson, Owen Reth; and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and his large extended family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Timothy J. Murphy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Timothy Murphy as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
