SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bette Jane Ellis of Crystal Lake, who passed away on March 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Bette Ellis was born in Chicago to Raymond and Madelyn Hentz on May 27, 1936; she graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in 1954 and continued her education at McHenry County College; she received many medical certifications; and

WHEREAS, Bette Ellis spent her career as an Administrative Assistant or Medical Assistant in McHenry County; and

WHEREAS, Bette Ellis was an avid nature lover and always had a canine or bird as her companion; she loved to travel with her friend, Randy, and enjoyed walking, biking, canoeing, swimming, camping, cards, and bingo; and

WHEREAS, Bette Ellis was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert, Richard, and Donald; her sister, Jacqueline; and her daughter, Debbie Ellis; and

WHEREAS, Bette Ellis is survived by her children, Donald (Bonnie) Ellis, Dorene (Kirk) Wiggerman, Duwane (Tammy) Ellis, and Dean Ellis; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bette Jane Ellis, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bette Ellis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
