SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rose Mary Weingart of McHenry, who passed away on March 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Rose Weingart was born in Northbrook to William F. and Pauline B. (Happ) Selzer on August 23, 1924 and grew up in Crystal Lake; she married Donald P. Weingart at St. Thomas of the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake on October 5, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Rose Weingart had a lifelong interest in cooking, baking, sewing, and the occasional debate; in her earlier years, she devotedly attended her grandchildren's many sporting events and enjoyed her exercise group, dominoes, card clubs, and vacations to Sayner, Wisconsin with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Rose Weingart was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Lawrence, Norie, Richard, Francis, Edward, Eleanor Aufderheide, Loretta Anderson, and Angeline Raycraft; and her son-in-law, David S. Diedrich; and

WHEREAS, Rose Weingart is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald; her children, Alan (Mary) Weingart, Karen Diedrich, and Jane (Brad) Hertel; her grandchildren, Andrew (Katelynn) Weingart, Nathan Weingart, Sarah (James) Frank, Todd (Caitlin) Diedrich, Kathleen Diedrich, Emily (Brad) Voss, and Erik Hertel; and her great-grandchild, Blake Diedrich; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rose Mary Weingart, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rose Weingart as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
