SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard H. "Shorty" Glawe of McHenery,
4who passed away on March 22, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Glawe was born in Cary to Charles H. and
6Amelia (Benhart) Glawe on May 3, 1931; he married Delores E.
7Fiene at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect on
8December 1, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Glawe was very active in his church; he
10was a lifetime member of the VFW in Woodstock and a proud
11Memorial Day parade marshal; he was a doer and a great
12handyman; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Glawe was a connoisseur of John Deere
14collectibles and a proud owner of a 1937 John Deere; he enjoyed
15square dancing, bowling, and pinochle, but most of all he loved
16his family and being a grandfather; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Glawe was preceded in death by his
18parents, Charles and Amelia Glawe, Violet, Edna, and Carl; and
19two baby twin brothers; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Glawe is survived by his wife of 65 years,

1Delores; his children, Marla K. (Jeffrey S.) Foerster, and
2Warren R. (Brenda G.) Glawe; his grandchildren, Benjamin
3(Sylvia) Foerster, Eryn Glawe, Meghan (Brian) Laine, and Jaison
4(Nicole) Glawe; his great-grandchildren, Hailey Laine, Randall
5Laine, and William Foerster; his sister-in-law, Frieda
6Oehlenking; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Richard H. "Shorty" Glawe, and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Richard Glawe as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
