SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas Wallace Caillouet of Chicago, who
4passed away on March 13, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet was born in Chicago to Louise and
6Norbert Sr. on January 18, 1946; he attended St. Ambrose
7Elementary School and De La Salle High School; he married
8Leonnie (Hardimon) on June 11, 1983; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet began his banking career with
10Continental Illinois Bank and also worked with Bank of America;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet became a parishioner at the Faith
13Community of St. Sabina in 2000 serving as a devoted member of
14the Marriage and Hospitality Ministries; he joined St. Sabina's
15Knights of Peter Cleaver 192 as the Sergeant at Arms; and he
16actively participated at the Chicago Food Depository; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet loved sports, starting with
18baseball; he enjoyed watching hockey, basketball, football,
19and any other sport on television, and he attended Chicago
20White Sox games; he showed his deep admiration for sports
21through his collections of sport apparel, and wearing his

1collection of sports caps; he read sports pages from the
2Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the New York Times;
3he could be found watching "Pardon the Interruption" and "First
4Take" on television; he also enjoyed playing chess during his
5retirement and actively engaging with his peers in creating the
6Monday Night Football Club; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet was preceded in death by his
8parents, Norbert Sr. and Louise; and his siblings, Theresa,
9Lionel, Claudius, Norbert Jr., Bernard, Edward, and Michael;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet is survived by his wife of 33
12years, Leonnie; his daughter, Chirskira; his mother-in-law,
13Lula Newsome; his sisters-in-law, Wyonnie (Michael) Austin,
14Margaret Bryant, and Emma Wright; his brother, Louis Caillouet;
15his sisters, Sandra Ali, Mary Dancy, Linda Hunter, and Lesley
16Amos; his nephew, Jason Raines, and a host of other nephews and
17nieces, and friends; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Thomas Wallace Caillouet, and extend our sincere condolences to
21his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
22further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Thomas Caillouet as an expression of
3our deepest sympathy.
