SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Wallace Caillouet of Chicago, who passed away on March 13, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet was born in Chicago to Louise and Norbert Sr. on January 18, 1946; he attended St. Ambrose Elementary School and De La Salle High School; he married Leonnie (Hardimon) on June 11, 1983; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet began his banking career with Continental Illinois Bank and also worked with Bank of America; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet became a parishioner at the Faith Community of St. Sabina in 2000 serving as a devoted member of the Marriage and Hospitality Ministries; he joined St. Sabina's Knights of Peter Cleaver 192 as the Sergeant at Arms; and he actively participated at the Chicago Food Depository; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet loved sports, starting with baseball; he enjoyed watching hockey, basketball, football, and any other sport on television, and he attended Chicago White Sox games; he showed his deep admiration for sports through his collections of sport apparel, and wearing his collection of sports caps; he read sports pages from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the New York Times; he could be found watching "Pardon the Interruption" and "First Take" on television; he also enjoyed playing chess during his retirement and actively engaging with his peers in creating the Monday Night Football Club; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert Sr. and Louise; and his siblings, Theresa, Lionel, Claudius, Norbert Jr., Bernard, Edward, and Michael; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Caillouet is survived by his wife of 33 years, Leonnie; his daughter, Chirskira; his mother-in-law, Lula Newsome; his sisters-in-law, Wyonnie (Michael) Austin, Margaret Bryant, and Emma Wright; his brother, Louis Caillouet; his sisters, Sandra Ali, Mary Dancy, Linda Hunter, and Lesley Amos; his nephew, Jason Raines, and a host of other nephews and nieces, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas Wallace Caillouet, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Caillouet as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
