SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Martin J. Brugger Jr., who passed away on December 31, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Martin Brugger Jr. was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to Martin J. Sr. and Nellie Brugger on May 31, 1929; he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and married Thelma M. Dimon in Woodstock on August 23, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Martin Brugger Jr. worked in the tool and die industry as a mold maker; he also worked for a time as a security guard; and

WHEREAS, Martin Brugger Jr. was a lifetime member of the VFW; he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Martin Brugger Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 49 years, Thelma; and his brothers, Dale and Don Brugger; and

WHEREAS, Martin Brugger Jr. is survived by his son, Tom (Claudette) Brugger; his daughter, Wendy (Craig) Peters; his grandchildren, Tracy Peters, Ryan (Audrey) Peters, and Junior (Vanessa) Tinsley; his great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Cody, Kane, and Adrian; his brother, Jerry (Carol) Brugger; his sisters, Joyce Wood, and Linda (Rollie) Burns; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Martin J. Brugger Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Martin Brugger Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
