SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James George Palek of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on December 22, 2016 at the age of 87; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Palek was born in Chicago to James and
6Vlasta (Cekan) Palek on February 21, 1929; he married Genevieve
7D. Ungerecht in Chicago on April 22, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, James Palek retired from Black Dot after 31 years
9of service; he was a member of the Mens Garden Club, the Sokol
10Organization, and he was a Boy Scout troop leader for a number
11of years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Palek enjoyed gardening, gymnastics,
13fishing, bonsai trees, campfire cooking, barbecue, summers in
14Pike Lake, Wisconsin, and spending time with his family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James Palek was preceded in death by his wife; his
16parents; his son-in-law, Ray McKinnon; and his brother, Robert
17Palek; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Palek is survived by his children, Debi
19(Tom) Malone, Sue Ellen (Bill Bacon) McKinnon, Tom (Lynn)
20Palek, Steve (Kathy) Palek, Nadine (Steve) Csech, Paul Palek,

1and Jon (Linda) Palek; 16 grandchildren and 12
2great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
5family and friends, mourn the passing of James George Palek,
6and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and
7all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of James Palek as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
