SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rodney D. Aavang of Greenwood, who passed
4away on January 3, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rodney Aavang was born on the family farm to Almer
6and Lilly (Schroeder) Aavang on August 26, 1927 and was a
7lifelong resident of Greenwood Township; he graduated from
8Woodstock High School in 1945 and married Libbie Barber at
9Greenwood Methodist Church on October 21, 1950; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rodney Aavang was a longtime member of the McHenry
11County Farm Bureau, the McHenry County Fair Association, and
12the Woodstock Progressive Milk Association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rodney Aavang was preceded in death by his
14parents; his sisters, Ethel Wilcox, and Bessie Worm; his
15brothers, Elmer, Clarence, and Victor Aavang; his
16granddaughter, Juniper Aavang; and his daughter-in-law, Cathy
17Aavang; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rodney Aavang is survived by his wife of over 66
19years, Libbie; his children, Dan Aavang, Sarah Aavang (Robert
20Lukes), Gary (Michele) Aavang, John Lohse, and JoAnn (David)
21Lohse; his grandchildren, Rachel Aavang (Vassil Antonov),

1Deanne Aavang, Jessie (Wei Nan) Lin, Brandon (Julie) Lohse,
2Josh (Anna) Lohse, Hannah Lohse (Chris McKee Jr.), Alyssa
3(Kevin) Paschke, and Morgan Lohse (Daniel Hayes); his
4step-grandchildren, Jamie Wasvick, Andrew Parker, Wesley
5Parker, Ross Parker, and Grant DeYoung; 11 great-grandchildren
6and 13 step-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Rodney D. Aavang, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Rodney Aavang as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
