SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald E. Schiller of McHenry, who passed
4away on January 4, 2017 at the age of 89; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin
6to Paul and Lillian (Stover) Schiller on August 9, 1927; he
7married Lola M. Goldman on July 4, 1952; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was a veteran, serving in the
9United States Army during the Korean War; he retired as an
10operating engineer of McHenry Sand & Gravel; he was a heavy
11equipment operator and a lifetime member of International Union
12of Operating Engineers Local 150; he was a member of the Chuck
13Wagon Riders Saddle Club, and the Woodstock Moose Lodge for
14many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller enjoyed his home, work, horses,
16and camping; he was a loving husband, father, brother,
17grandfather, and great-grandfather; and he took great pride in
18his life, home, and family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was preceded in death by his
20parents, Paul and Lillian Schiller; six brothers, Raymond,
21Clifford, Glen, Dale, Larry, and Clayton; and two sisters,

1Arlene and Mildred; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller is survived by his wife, Lola
3Schiller; his children, Lamar (Nancy) Schiller, Lavern
4(Janine) Schiller, Christine (Frank) Boeckmann, and Geraldine
5(Robert) Eilert; his eight grandchildren, Jason (Rebecca)
6Boeckmann, Collin (Kelli) Boeckmann, Sheryl (John) Matthews,
7Ryan Eilert, Connor Eilert, Timothy Eilert, Olivia Schiller,
8and Liliana Schiller; his great-grandchild, Sebastian
9Boeckmann; his brother, Vern (Jean) Schiller; and his sister,
10Lorraine (the late Tom) Sheridan; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald Schiller, and
14extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all
15who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Gerald Schiller as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
