SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alice May Crawford of McHenry, who passed
4away on March 3, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alice Crawford was born in Alden to Clare and Ruth
6Greene Gates on August 21, 1924; she married Wallace J.
7Crawford in Genoa City, Wisconsin on May 6, 1945; they lived in
8Genoa City before moving to Hebron in 1962 and then to Arkansas
9in 1993; she recently moved to Fox Point in McHenry; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Alice Crawford worked as a court clerk at the
11McHenry County Courthouse for 22 years; she was a former member
12of the Hebron United Methodist Church and the Heber Springs
13United Methodist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas; she
14volunteered for the Heber Springs United Methodist
15Church-Cleburn County Cares; she was also a member of the
16Friends of the Library in Heber Springs and a past Worthy
17Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Alice Crawford was preceded in death by a son,
19Wallace "Keith" Crawford, and her brother, Glenn Gates; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Alice Crawford is survived by three daughters,
21Terry Crawford, Kay (Loren) Vant, and Dawn Crawford; two

1grandchildren, David Keith Schult and Amanda (Ben) Fisher; and
2four great-grandchildren, Daniel, David, Jacob, and Chayse;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Alice May Crawford, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Alice Crawford as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
