SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward William Schaefer, who passed away
4on February 15, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer was born in Chicago to Robert and
6Marilyn (Taken) Schaefer on November 7, 1951; he married Sarah
7Donahue at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock on September
824, 1976; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer moved to Harvard with his family
10when he was 16 years old to build Plum Tree Golf Course with
11his father; he was a member of International Operating
12Engineers Local 150 for 49 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer taught his girls how to work on
14cars and to do home improvements; he enjoyed taking his family
15camping, and taught them to ride horses; he enjoyed building
16homes, taking trips to Mexico and Fort Myers, Florida with
17friends and family, taking boat rides on Lake Geneva, and
18family road trips to Gulf Shores for many years; he was very
19adventurous, and loved finding new places to explore and
20spending time with his family; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer was preceded in death by his

1parents, and a brother-in-law, Roger Curio; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer is survived by his wife, Sarah
3"Sally"; his daughters, Katherine, Jennifer Schaefer, and Amy
4(Charlie) Vicari; his grandchildren, Colin, Allyson, and
5Charlie; his sisters, Bonnie (Ray) Shields and Joan Curio; and
6many cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Edward William Schaefer, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Edward Schaefer as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
