SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Keith E. Ehrke Sr. of Woodstock, who
4passed away on February 7, 2017 at the age of 73; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Ehrke Sr. was born in Woodstock to Norman
6(Butch) and Arlene Ehrke on January 12, 1944; he grew up in
7Woodstock and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1962; he
8married Judy Kulisek on September 25, 1971; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Keith Ehrke Sr. worked for the Woodstock Sentinel
10in the 1970s; he was then owner of KEE's Auto Detailers for
11several years before working for Warner Offset until his
12retirement; he delivered the Chicago Tribune and the Sun Times
13earlier in his life and the Northwest Herald after his
14retirement; he made many friends on his paper routes; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Keith Ehrke Sr. was an avid bowler and was on many
16leagues at Edgetown Bowl; he loved fishing, golfing, going to
17the racetrack, and playing the penny machines; most of all, he
18enjoyed spending time with his family; some of his happiest
19days were when he married his high school sweetheart, when his
20children were born, and when his beloved Cubbies won the World
21Series; he was a longtime member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge;

1    WHEREAS, Keith Ehrke Sr. was preceded in death by his
2parents; his wife, Judy; his brother, Roger Ehrke; his nephew,
3Dean Ehrke; and his mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Eileen
4Kulisek; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Ehrke Sr. is survived by his four children,
6Cindy (Kyle) Horner, Becky (Matt) Pefley, Keith Jr. (Brigid),
7and Jamie (Chris) Seibert; 18 grandchildren, Steven (Kylara),
8Joey (Monica), Jordan (Amber) and Kory Horner, Dominic, Mariah,
9Annileise, Bride, Keira, Eliana, William, Sylvia, and Levi
10Ehrke, Alaina Zolp, Morgan and Jenna Pefley, and Kaleb and
11Brendan Seibert; four great-grandchildren, Aryia, Chloe,
12Conner, and Emma Horner; his sisters, Linda (Jerry) Steig, and
13Sandy (John) Wickham; a sister-in-law, Judy McCowan, as well as
14numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Keith E. Ehrke Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Keith Ehrke Sr. as an expression of
