SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lorry Jean Dacy of Harvard, who passed
4away on February 3, 2017 at the age 64; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lorry Dacy was born in Harvard to Lloyd and Dona
6McConnell on April 30, 1952; she married the love of her life,
7David M. Dacy, on June 21, 1969; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lorry Dacy worked at the Harvard State Bank for
9nearly two decades and it became her second home; everyone at
10the bank, from her colleagues to the customers with whom she
11spoke daily, was a second, extended family; they were there for
12her in good times, and later when she battled illness; they
13meant more to her (and to her family) than they may ever fully
14know; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lorry Dacy liked to sit quietly in the backyard
16and read; she was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching the
17birds she fed regularly; she enjoyed traveling with her husband
18and spending time with her grandchildren; she was quiet and
19unassuming, but she was the rock of stability for her family
20and kept everyone strong; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Lorry Dacy was preceded in death by her father,

1Lloyd McConnell; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lorry Dacy is survived by her best friend and
3beloved husband of 47 years, David; one child, Joseph
4(Jennifer) Dacy; two grandchildren, Coen and Zachery Dacy; her
5mother, Dona; and her sisters, Marilyn McCormick, Betsy
6Milligan, and Gail Barber; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Lorry J. Dacy, and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Lorry Dacy as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
