| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Margaret N. Royal of Girard, who passed | 4 | | away on February 24, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Royal was born in Newton, Mississippi to | 6 | | Willis and Virginia (Brantley) Norman on June 1, 1924; she | 7 | | married Lyle W. Royal in Pascagoula, Mississippi on March 6, | 8 | | 1943; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Royal retired from Cahokia School | 10 | | District #187, where she was a secretary at Cahokia High | 11 | | School; she and her husband formerly owned and operated the | 12 | | Royal Highway Service Station and the Royal Treat in Cahokia; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Royal enjoyed traveling, gardening, and | 15 | | reading; she and her husband were members of Maplewood Park | 16 | | Baptist Church in Cahokia, and then Grace Southern Baptist | 17 | | Church in Virden; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Royal was preceded in death by her | 19 | | parents; her husband, Lyle; and her siblings, Katherine Dunagin | 20 | | Steele, Marion Norman, and Sybil Mandle; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Royal is survived by her daughters, | 2 | | Elaine (Robert) Harrell, and Cecilia (Douglas) Pitchford; her | 3 | | grandchildren, Rebecca (Jeff) Caldwell, Cynthia (Brandon) | 4 | | Shafer, Erick Pitchford (Christine Bradley), and Tyler (Janna) | 5 | | Pitchford; her great-grandchildren, Ethan and Avery Caldwell, | 6 | | Corban, Eliana, Jude, and Gabriella Shafer, Lucas Pitchford, | 7 | | and Maddy, Meredith, and Ben Pitchford; and her sister-in-law, | 8 | | Dorothy Norman; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Margaret N. Royal, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
