SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Albert D. "Albie" DeFauw of East Moline who passed away on November 16, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Albert DeFauw was born in Moline to Rose DeFauw Kindhart on April 10, 1935; he served in the Naval Reserves; he married Elaine M. Marlier in Moline on April 20, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Albert DeFauw worked as an electrician with ALCOA and retired in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Albert DeFauw was known as a handyman who could fix just about anything, and he was always lending his time to help others; he and his wife enjoyed traveling; he was a member of the Geneseo Country Club and an avid golfer with a hole-in-one to his name; he was a bowler who, at the age of 78, bowled a 300 game; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities; and

WHEREAS, Albert DeFauw is survived by his wife, Elaine; his daughter, Arlyce (James) Logan; his sons, Dan (Nikki) DeFauw and David DeFauw; his grandchildren, Alecia (Ryan) Burns, Lance Logan, Mitchell (Nicole) DeFauw, Kyle DeFauw, Jared DeFauw, and Hannah DeFauw; his brother, Adolph (Teresa) DeFauw; and his sister, Mary (Harold) Smith; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Albert D. "Albie" DeFauw and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert DeFauw as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
