SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Diane Lynn Bushing of Richmond, who passed away on January 20, 2017 at the age of 53; and

WHEREAS, Diane Bushing was born in Chicago to Simon and Dorothy (Jablonski) Lynn on November 2, 1963; she was a 1981 graduate of Grant High School; she attended the College of Lake County and Lake Forest Business Academy earning her associate's degree in Accounting; she married Douglas L. Bushing on May 14, 1988; and

WHEREAS, Diane Bushing was employed as a manager for Baxter Health Care, retiring in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Diane Bushing was a very active member of the Women's Ministry Organization at St. Peter's Church; she proudly served as a Girl Scout Leader as well as on the School Board for Nippersink District No. 2; she found great pleasure in playing bingo, Words with Friends, and most recently, Monopoly; she was an avid reader and loved to travel, especially to Florida and Hawaii; she was always happiest spending time wherever there was a beach; when not on the beach, she found great joy spending quality family time in the Wisconsin Dells or their north woods family cottage; she was a loving wife, mother, and doting grandma to her precious grandbaby, Caleb; and

WHEREAS, Diane Bushing was preceded in death by her parents and Sparkles; and

WHEREAS, Diane Bushing is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Doug; two daughters, Kristen (Spyro) Bazigos, and Heidi Bushing; her grandbaby, Caleb; her brothers, Ken (Judy) Lynn, Daniel (Rena) Lynn, and a sister, Joanne (Leo); many nieces and nephews, an abundance of friends, and her special fur baby buds, Henry, Oscar, Abby, and Honey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Diane Lynn Bushing, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Diane Bushing as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
