SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Edward Reed Sr. of Crystal Lake,
4who passed away on January 19, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Reed Sr. was born in Duluth, Minnesota on
6December 23, 1927; he graduated from the University of
7Minnesota and served his country in the United States Marine
8Corps and the Air Force Reserve; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Reed Sr. and his wife, Louise, operated
10Reed's Women's Apparel in Crystal Lake for 35 years; they also
11were sales representatives for Cruises International of
12Schaumburg for 25 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Reed Sr. was a member of the Marine Corps
14League McHenry County Detachment #1009; he and his wife were
15members of the First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake
16for 51 years, and they had a passion for dancing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Reed Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his sister, Barb Franey; his grandson, Gary Reed Jr.;
19and his brothers-in-law, Wallace Carlson Thomas Franey, and
20Lyle Sours; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Reed Sr. is survived by his wife, Louise
2(Carlson); his sons, Robert E. (Robin) Reed Jr., Gary R.
3(Cathy) Reed, and Bryan E. (Lisa) Reed; his grandchildren,
4Heather (Greg) Mance, Chris, Patrick (finance Jessica),
5Jordan, Joshua, and Hope Reed; his great-granddaughter, Olivia
6Mance; his sister, Betty Sours; and numerous cousins and
7nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert Edward Reed Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Reed Sr. as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
