SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" F. Fuchs of Woodstock, who passed away on July 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was born to Albert J. and Magdalen (George) Fuchs on June 15, 1928; he was raised in Woodstock, where he met and later married Eileen R. Demuth on September 16, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs served in the United States Army from November 10, 1950 until October 28, 1952, during the Korean War; after returning home, he worked as a painter at Woodstock Die Casting for many years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs loved to garden and was a "Master Gardener" before the term was used; he grew enough food to feed his family all winter and also shared his bounty with friends and neighbors; in his later years, he was known as a "man about town" because on almost any given day, he could be spotted at his favorite local restaurant; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; his parents; his sister, Barbara K. Kopsell; and his brother, Thomas G. Fuchs; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs is survived by his children, Shirley, Robert J., and Lynda; his grandchildren, David Blue, Elise Harland, Jordan Fuchs, and Jace Fuchs; his great-granddaughter, Mia Harland; his sister, Mary Beth Fuchs; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" F. Fuchs and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Fuchs as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
