SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert "Bob" F. Fuchs of Woodstock, who
4passed away on July 6, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was born to Albert J. and Magdalen
6(George) Fuchs on June 15, 1928; he was raised in Woodstock,
7where he met and later married Eileen R. Demuth on September
816, 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs served in the United States Army from
10November 10, 1950 until October 28, 1952, during the Korean
11War; after returning home, he worked as a painter at Woodstock
12Die Casting for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs loved to garden and was a "Master
14Gardener" before the term was used; he grew enough food to feed
15his family all winter and also shared his bounty with friends
16and neighbors; in his later years, he was known as a "man about
17town" because on almost any given day, he could be spotted at
18his favorite local restaurant; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was preceded in death by his wife,
20Eileen; his parents; his sister, Barbara K. Kopsell; and his
21brother, Thomas G. Fuchs; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs is survived by his children, Shirley,
2Robert J., and Lynda; his grandchildren, David Blue, Elise
3Harland, Jordan Fuchs, and Jace Fuchs; his
4great-granddaughter, Mia Harland; his sister, Mary Beth Fuchs;
5and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Robert "Bob" F. Fuchs and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Bob Fuchs as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
