SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leon F. Walsh of Marengo, who passed away
4on January 29, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was born in Chicago to Leo and
6Josephine (Dolata) Wolski on June 12, 1931; he served in the
7United States Marines during the Korean War and married Audrey
8(Stephan) Walsh on August 7, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leon Walsh spent his career in the printing
10business as a hand-set typesetter and proofreader; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was a 3rd-4th Degree member of the
12Knights of Columbus, a past Grand Knight of the Queen of Peace
13Council in Barrington, a charter member of the Sacred Heart
14Council in Marengo, and an active member of St. Monica's Parish
15in Carpentersville for 47 years; he was a member of Veterans of
16Foreign Wars 1612; he enjoyed traveling and camping with his
17family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was preceded in death by his parents;
19his sisters, Alice (John) Ross, and Irene (Edward) Sanders; his
20nephew, Robert Ross; his niece, Carole Cannon; and his
21grandson, Alex Walsh; and

1    WHEREAS, Leon Walsh is survived by his wife, Audrey; his
2daughter, Karen (Larry) Rokusek, Chris Walsh, Craig (Pam)
3Walsh, Kevin (Jenifer) Walsh, and Corey (Barbara) Walsh; his
4grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Rokusek, Johnathan (Sarah),
5Jessica, Bryan (Samantha), Brandon (Kelsee), Andrew, David,
6Ashley, Austin, and Jared Walsh; his great-grandchildren,
7Ryleigh and Emilio; and four generations of nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Leon F. Walsh, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Leon Walsh as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
