SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn Rose Banovic of Litchfield, who passed away on May 27, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Banovic was born in Mt. Olive to John Henry and Catherine (Gorsich) Zubal on December 6, 1929; she married John Joseph Banovic in Mt. Olive; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Banovic was a licensed beautician and owned and operated Marilyn's Beauty Shop in Mt. Olive; over a 33-year span, she also worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation in Springfield as an office clerk, and the Governor's Office - State of Illinois in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Banovic was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Litchfield; she enjoyed mowing her lawn and watching the St. Louis Cardinals; she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Banovic was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; and her brothers, Clarence, LeRoy "Babe", John, and Gib Zubal; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Banovic is survived by her son, Edward (Jeanne) Banovic; her grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Weatherford and Andrew (Katie) Banovic; her great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kaden Weatherford; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Zubal and Norma Zubal; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marilyn Rose Banovic, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Banovic as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
