SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of H. Ann Schultz of Lake Bluff, who passed
4away on December 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was born in Sidney, Iowa to Harley and
6Margaret (Bayes) Stevesson on January 16, 1925; she graduated
7from Malvern High School and earned her degree in home
8management from Iowa State University; she married Carl Schultz
9on June 6, 1948 and they settled in Lake Bluff, where they
10resided for 55 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, During her younger days, Ann Schultz enjoyed
12riding horses with her sister, Mary Margaret; throughout her
13life, horses remained close to her heart; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was affectionately known as "Mum"; she
15was very talented at needlepoint; she was an active member of
16First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest for over 30 years,
17where she served on many committees; she was a master bridge
18player, playing well into her 80s; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was preceded in death by her parents
20and her husband, Carl; and

1    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz is survived by her son, Mark (Diane);
2her daughter, Julia (Steve Simon); her grandchildren, Melissa
3Coker, Sara (Chris) McIntosh, and Jennifer (Auston) Wilson; and
4her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Allie McIntosh; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8H. Ann Schultz, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ann Schultz as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
