SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of H. Ann Schultz of Lake Forest, who passed
4away on December 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was born in Sidney, Iowa to Harley and
6Margaret (Bayes) Stevesson on January 16, 1925; she grew up on
7the family farm enjoying riding horses with her sister Mary
8Margaret; horses remained close to her heart throughout her
9life; after graduating from Malvern High School, she went on to
10Iowa State University, receiving her degree in Home Management;
11it was at a Tri Delta - Kappa Sigma dance where she met her
12beloved husband, Carl Schultz, and they married on June 6,
131948; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz and her husband raised their two
15children in Lake Bluff, where they resided for 55 years; she
16was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and
17great-grandmother; she loved her family, home, garden, and many
18friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was a talented needlepointer,
20creating many beautiful pieces; for over 30 years, she was an
21active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest
22and served on many committees; she was also a master bridge

1player and she and Carl played bridge well into their 80s; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was recently preceded in death by her
3husband, Carl; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ann Schultz is survived by her son, Mark (Diane);
5her daughter, Julia (Steve) Simon; three grandchildren,
6Melissa Coker, Sara (Chris) McIntosh, and Jennifer (Auston)
7Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Allie McIntosh;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11H. Ann Schultz, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Ann Schultz as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
