SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas "Tom" Spanos Jr. of McHenry, who passed away on March 16, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was born to Thomas and Adeline Spanos on May 3, 1948; he married Alice Kopecky on July 8, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was involved in Marriage Encounter and worked with engaged couples at St. Mary's Church; and

WHEREAS, Tom Spanos enjoyed working with his hands and fishing in his free time; he loved being a part of his grandchildren's lives and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Tom Spanos was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Cloninger; and

WHEREAS, Tom Spanos is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice; his children, Thomas Spanos and Cynthia Reynolds; and his grandchildren, Preston and Lars Reynolds; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas Spanos Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Spanos as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
