SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bertha Lee Hill of Waukegan, who passed away on January 27, 2017 at the age of 77; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hill was born in Indianola, Mississippi on March 17, 1939; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hill retired following many years of service with the Great Lakes Naval Base; she was a longtime member of the Trinity AME Church of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hill is survived by her husband, Lewis Hill; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bertha Lee Hill, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bertha Hill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
