| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Maurice J. Schulz of West Alton, who | 4 | | passed away on February 1, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Maurice Schulz was born in Alton to Edmund and | 6 | | Helen (Merkle) Schulz on December 8, 1939; he served as a | 7 | | Captain in the United States Air Force with his primary duty at | 8 | | Fairchild Air Force Base, where he was a B-52 navigator; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Maurice Schulz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 10 | | Church, where he was a former organist; he loved trains and was | 11 | | a member of the Knights of Columbus in Alton, where he was a | 12 | | fourth degree Knight; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Maurice Schulz was preceded in death by his | 14 | | brothers, Ralph, Edgar, and Harold Schulz; his sister, Margaret | 15 | | Schulz; his brother-in-law, Ed Nelson; and his sister-in-law, | 16 | | Jean Schulz; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Maurice Schulz is survived by his wife, Dorothy | 18 | | Schulz; his son, John (Madalyn) Schulz; his grandchildren, | 19 | | Theresa Whittle, Derek (Morgan) Ogan, and Emily (William) | 20 | | McKown; his great-granddaughter, Ellie McKown; his siblings, | 21 | | Agnes Nelson, and John (Betty) Schulz; his sister-in-law, Joann |
